Zero-downtime migration of a monolithic e-commerce platform to microservices on AWS, cutting infrastructure costs by 40%.
A leading West African e-commerce platform faced frequent crashes during flash sales due to its monolithic PHP architecture. We containerised the monolith into 6 microservices (Docker/Kubernetes), built CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and used a blue-green deployment strategy. The cutover was seamless, and the new architecture auto-scales to handle 10x peak traffic.

Project Timeline
Assessment & Architecture Design
01 Nov 2025
Mapped 6 core domains and designed ECS Fargate architecture.
Containerisation
15 Dec 2025
Dockerised all services and set up staging Kubernetes clusters.
CI/CD & Load Testing
15 Jan 2026
Implemented pipelines and simulated 10x flash-sale traffic.
Blue-Green Cutover
15 Feb 2026
Switched DNS with zero downtime; green environment went live.
Challenges
Ensuring database consistency during the split of a monolithic MySQL database into service-specific Aurora clusters.
Results
Zero downtime, 40% cost reduction, 50% faster deployment cycles, and successfully handled 10x Black Friday traffic.
"Our previous setup crashed every major sale. electroSOFT gave us a cloud architecture that handles anything we throw at it – and cut our bills massively." – CTO, E-commerce Platform
